The Alpha QX4 ice hockey glove offers the performance-level skater a lot of performance, protection, and comfort upgrades over the QX5 while still managing an attractive price point.

  • TuffTek 2.0 nylon for breathability, mobility, and durability
  • Lightweight, medium-density EVA foam for comfortable protection
  • Plastic lock thumb for enhanced thumb safety
  • Dual-density cuff roll for improved impact absorption
  • Synthetic 8080 Clarino for pro-level feel and increased durability
  • AXI-Flex two-piece thumb for improved dexterity and excellent hyperextension protection
  • Traditional fit for comfortable feel in fingers, backhand, and cuff

The Alpha QX4 exterior gets a full upgrade with Warrior’s TuffTek, a nylon material that provides flexibility and breathability right out of the box, with a traditional fit and feel.

For protection, the QX4 comes with thick, medium-density EVA foams on the fingers and back-hand finger block. The backhand has been upgraded with plastic inserts—a big jump in protection for areas likely to get hacked and slashed, or even hit by a stray puck. The cuff is also upgraded with Warrior’s embroidered logo, and with high-density foam on top and medium-density foam below for better protection on the top of the wrist. The thumb has also been upgraded with a two-piece AXI-Flex thumb, promising excellent out-of-the-box dexterity and flex, but still helping to prevent overextension in the thumb.

The two-piece finger design comes in a medium-density foam, as well. The glove’s overall protection (and looks) have been improved across the board from the QX5. The segmented finger design also provides a lot of flex, with a broken-in feel for worn-in comfort and responsiveness.

The QX4 palm is made in an ivory-colored 8080 Clorina, a synthetic leather, for a soft touch—a big improvement over the QX5 Clorina. And Warrior has added a larger center overlay for more durability, with cooler, more easy-breathing gussets. Inside, the liner is a traditional moisture-wicking microfiber that’s soft to the touch but will wick sweat and moisture from the hand and wrist, for dry comfort. The open cuff roll also helps keep skaters’ hands dry and cool.

The fit in the QX4 is still considered traditional, but is slightly modified so it’s a little more snug in the cuff, backhand, and through the fingers.

The QX4 hockey glove offers an almost total upgrade over the QX5, but comes at a price point sure to get the attention of the performance-level player looking for a great glove with a ton of value.
